A rare opportunity has arisen for an innovative and strategically minded individual to lead the Community Nutrition and Dietetic Service in Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

In collaboration with the Head of Nutrition and Dietetics the post holder will be responsible for strategic direction, clinical leadership and operational performance of the Community Nutrition and Dietetic service across Cardiff and Vale. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality, safe care and will support the development of clinical pathways through expert knowledge, clinical leadership and education.

The successful person will have excellent communication and influencing skills, extensive experience of working across a broad range of services and have worked successfully with other professionals and partner agencies. You will be able to work on your own as well as within a multi-disciplinary team.

The Community Nutrition and Dietetic Strategic Lead is the professional and managerial head of Community Dietetic services across Public Health, Adult and Paediatric Clinical services, Rehabilitation services and Chronic condition management including overseeing the UHB weight management services.

You will act as the UHB lead for the performance management of the Enteral Feeding Contract. This innovative and forward-looking department includes Dietitians, Nutrition Nurses, assistant practitioners, support workers and administrative staff.

The postholder has allocated responsibility for the financial, facilities and human resources for Cardiff ad Vale Community Nutrition and Dietetic Service and is accountable to the UHB Head of Nutrition and Dietetic Services for the performance management and provision of an operationally effective service that complies with all the requirements of corporate and clinical governance.

The post holder will be accountable to the Head of Nutrition and Dietetics for the performance of the service and will provide expert advice on professional practice both within the UHB and to external agencies to ensure that nutrition and dietetics is appropriately represented in the strategic planning of community services.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
