Seven Resourcing is seeking a Young Persons Worker to work in Newcastle, Tyne and Wear. This role is full-time, temporary and is paying £23 per hour.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Working directly with young people on an individual or group basis to offer harm minimisation interventions, advice, support and treatment around substance misuse and surrounding issues;
- Recognising the professional duty of care to protect where young people present a risk to themselves or others, follow the local and national legislative practices, complying with statutory requirements
- Understanding confidentiality and consent in relation to young people and ensuring duties are carried out with due regard to and compliance with the Data Protection Act and other legislation;
- Provide training, information, advice and guidance to parents/carers and staff who work with vulnerable young people;
**Applicant Requirements**:

- Relevant qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or a related field
- Experience working with young people in a professional capacity, ideally within a social care or educational setting
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to child protection
- Understanding of issues affecting young people, such as mental health, substance misuse, family dynamics, and social pressures
