Child Support Worker Role
This role will be working with children in the community working 2:1 to ensure the safety and care of young service users aged between 11-18. You will have good attention to detail evidenced by writing detailed notes about your observations of the young person'semotions, interactions with support teaM/Family members, conversations in person and on the phone, food diaries and their daily routines. The role will require you to take part in activities with the young person to enourage independance, routine and supportthe Young person to manage their finances. You will need to be able to identify and report any safeguarding concerns which arise during your shift.
You will have gained experience managing young people with challenging behaviour, a range of mental health issues and disabilities.
We will provide online e-learning training + TMVA training to ensure safe de-escalation should situations arise. A professional manner is essential when working with the local authoirties, Prospero and the Service User to ensure all parties maintain a professionalsupportive relationship for the duration of the package of care is required.
Working Hours.
Day shifts: 8am to 8pm.
Night shifts: 8pm to 8am.
Long Day sleep: 8am to 11pm + attached sleep in.
Essential Requirements:
*Ability to adapt and act appropriately to challenging situations.
*A high level of patience and emotional resilience.
*A non-judgmental attitude regardless of a person's needs or behaviours.
*The ability to remain calm under pressure and when dealing with challenging situations.
*The ability to keep up with changing standards and codes of conduct in the social care sector.
*Good written and verbal communication skills.
*Experience as a child support worker, working with vulnerable children with a variety of mental health issues
*Enhanced DBS check
Desirable Requirements:
*Preferable to be able to drive as locations can be spread out.
