We are seeking a compassionate, confident female support worker to work with Katie 2-days per week 08.00-16.30 Monday to Friday.

Katie is 26 years old and lives in her own home with her parents and pet cat. She has an acquired brain injury which she received at or near the time of her birth, as a result, Katie has Cerebral Palsy which affects all four of her limbs, her trunk and neck. Katie also has a moderate learning disability and communication difficulties.

Katie needs support with all areas of her daily life and aspects of her personal care. She also requires support with mobilising and practical one to one support with eating and drinking.

Katie is looking for a support worker who will support her with the above but also support her to attend her day activities. Katie likes to go to a crafty drama class, a farm placement, gym and swimming and horse riding.

It is important that Katie's support worker likes and is confident with animals and reptiles as feeding, caring for and handling is part of the farm tasks. During riding sessions, a support worker is needed to hold the reins, talk to the horse, and support Katie with mounting and dismounting. All training and guidance will be given.

- Employer will support employees secure funding for diplomas in Health and Social Care Level 2, 3 or 4 once probation has been passed.
