**Peabody**has an exciting opportunity for a **Housing Support Worker **on a **full time, permanent** basis, based in **Colchester.** In return, you will receive a competitive salary of **£22,182 per annum.**

We are looking for a **Housing Support Worker **to work in our Colchester supported housing hostels for single people and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Colchester Temporary Housing service is a service for homeless households who are awaiting assessment or being assessed by Colchester Borough Homes as to their right to be housed by the housing authority. We work with young people, single adults and families.Some will move on to social housing whilst others may be found intentionally homeless and will move to the private rented sector. You will provide a support service to meet the needs of licensees whilst they live in any of the schemes within the service. Theteam works closely with Colchester Borough Homes to facilitate move-on into appropriate accommodation.

**Please note there is no personal care involved in this Housing Support Worker role.**

**Working hours** - Monday - Friday

**Shift Patterns**:

- 8am - 3.30pm and 11.30am - 7pm

Due to our locations, it is essential that drivers have your own mode of transport.

**What we're looking for in our Housing Support Worker**:

- Good communication and computer skills
- The ability to keep accurate records
- The ability to work as part of a team and manage a caseload
- Previous experience in a similar housing role with good knowledge of welfare benefits, risk assessments and support processes
- An understanding of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children
- The ability to promote independent living skills, provide advice and guidance around tenancy management, employment education and training
