**We are looking for a dynamic, patient but firm person to support a 14 year old girl to get to school on weekdays, but also to take her out at weekends for social activities.**

**She is not keen to go on the school provided transport, however, following a prescribed (and tested) strategy accomplishes this without confrontation and enables regular attendance. Training will be provided. You will need to be able to engage with her to build a trusting and supportive relationship. ** **The hours for this element of the role will be 8am - 8.45/9am Monday to Friday during school term time.**

**Some social activities may include going to clubs, the cinema, swimming, going shopping, sporting activities, meeting friends, trips to the park Depending on activities carried out, you may need to assist her with dressing, showering and bathing (after swimming) and potentially helping to prepare meals if needed. Social activities are likely to be at a weekend.**

**We are happy to job share either one person doing weekday mornings and another weekend, or split all hours across 2 people.**

**You will need to be prepared to be firm and manage any behaviour when she does not want to do something. She will generally sit down and refuse to move. There are strategies to manage this that require consistency.**

**Rate of pay is £10 per hour. This post is funded by the local authority and the hours agreed are 8 hours per week. It would be possible to job share with one person assisting weekdays and another to do weekend activities if necessary.**

**Mum has a hearing impairment, so a patient communicator is needed.**

**Car driver preferred, full clean licence required. Mileage will be paid for travel carried out in the fulfilment of the position.**
