We are currently recruiting for an ethical trade, Supply Chain Sustainability Specialist or Social Compliance Specialist to sit within the European team, based in our London office. You will be reporting into the Sustainability Global Manager, working with the Supply Chain Labour Management team, to deliver Fast Retailing’s supply chain sustainability strategy and goals.
The role purpose is focused on social sustainability, social compliance, ethical trade (human rights) and corporate social responsibility through due diligence, social audits, and risk management.
What you will be responsible for
- Leading on Fast Retailing’s monitoring and evaluation program including onboarding of new suppliers and ensuring annual audits are conducted, review of audit reports, follow up on improvement actions and identify risk patterns.
- Communicating with suppliers on trainings, Fast Retailing’s requests and other supply chain updates.
- Building strong relationships with the broader sourcing team, suppliers, and third-party partners to support delivery of Fast Retailing’s human rights due diligence processes.
- Creating reports, presentations and updates for the Headquarters and regional teams.
- Supporting the marketing, communication and community activities related to sustainability at both corporate and local levels.
- Contributing ideas and feedback to continually develop Fast Retailing’s programmes.
- Other administrative requests as required.
Skills, Experience and Attributes:
- 2+ years’ experience in labour rights, human rights, ethical trade at supply chain or related field, ideally within a fashion retailer or sustainability consultancy
- Social compliance skills preferred but not essential
- Languages: Fluent English, and other languages are desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good time management skills, and the ability to plan, organise and review activities to meet set deadlines
- Research skills and ability to collate data and information for accurate reporting
- Thorough and reliable with great attention to detail
- Able to use Microsoft office packages effectively, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Willingness to travel for work, at least once a month to production countries in the EMEA region
