**Principal Responsibilities**
- Manage Wessex Cancer Trusts fundraising events and challenges programme to engage new and current supporters, raise funds and increase the profile of the charity
- To assist with the organisation and administration of events, which will include: booking venues, arranging licenses, organising entertainment, transport, sourcing and thanking raffle prizes etc.
- Assess the viability and practicality of our own events and third-party challenges.
- Identify and implement new and innovative event opportunities.
- Monitor income and expenditure for each event
- Deliver high standards of supporter care before, during and after events.
- Work with the Database co-ordinator to use Salesforce to manage participant / ticket buyer records, with due regard to data protection issues.
- Ensure all events comply with necessary health and safety requirements and any other relevant legislation (including providing risk assessments as required).
- Work with the Volunteer Co-ordinator to implement a strategy for recruiting and retaining event volunteers.
- Working with the Head of Philanthropy and Major Gifts, identify and approach potential event sponsors, to cover event costs.
- Liaise with marketing team to ensure all details of events are shared in a timely fashion to enable them to plan exciting marketing campaigns to promote the events; and support the delivery of different elements of the campaigns as necessary.
- Stay aware of opportunities for other team members and pass on leads where appropriate.
- To manage the delivery of events on the day/evening, being responsible for all aspects of co ordination, including dealing with any problems. This will include working some evenings and weekends for which time off in lieu can be taken.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings.
- Stay informed of latest trends and new developments, legal requirements, best practice within both events and the wider fundraising sector and attend training days as required.

**Essential Skills/Experience/Qualities**
- Possess excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to form effective working relationships
- Ability to work on several projects at once and manage multiple stakeholders and timelines, ensuring deadlines and expectations are met.
- Ability to organise, plan and prioritise on own initiative, including when under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Have an understanding of supporter requirements and motivations particularly those who take part in fundraising events and challenges
- Strong communication skills including public speaking (or willingness to develop public speaking skills).
- Preferably, experience and good working knowledge of using a Fundraising/Access database, ideally Salesforce. Graduate applicants must demonstrate some understanding of databases and willingness to learn.
- Good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
- Experience of working in a supporter or customer care focused environment including experience of face-to-face contact with customers/supporters.
- Proven track record in administering charity fundraising events preferable.
- Demonstrable initiative and determination.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a small team

**Salary**: £21,255.00-£28,000.00 per year
