**Job description**

As a Driver and Compost Operative you are expected to carry out all tasks reasonably requested of you by the Managing Director and the Yard Manager. From time to time you will be required to carry out certain tasks for the Farm as instructed by other Farm Management. A brief, and not exhaustive, list of the typical tasks expected of you follows.

**Day-to-day tasks**

At all times maintaining a high standard of safe operation is the most important aspect of the job but other requirements of the role will require you at times to:

- Processing green waste following the company’s standard operating procedures, using telehandlers, tractors and trailers, loading shovels as well as other machinery used by the site including, but limited to, shredders and screeners.
- Load and remove compost from the site via tractors, trailers and telescopic handlers
- Operate all machinery to a high standard with regular servicing and cleaning, as well as adhering to the company’s policy of machinery pre-use checks and reporting any damage or breakages to the management immediately
- Keep the site in an orderly, functional tidy state at all times
- reporting any damage or breakages that may occur immediately - as well as regular litter sweeps
- Perform other farm duties such as assist at the poultry unit or tractor work
- Driving, hauling off site (on highways)
- Field work as instructed
- Any further yard work as instructed
- Carry out the above tasks in accordance with the company’s health and safety policy

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
