AVK Syddal is part of the AVK Group, who are market leaders in the supply of valves, fittings and flow control equipment to the Water, Waste Water, Oil, Gas and Fire Protection industries throughout the world.

At our site in Hyde, we are looking for a Production Supervisor to lead and develop our team. You will maintain all manufacturing processes, ensure the effective management of people & equipment and drive change in all aspects of manufacturing.

A strong and proven background in manufacturing / engineering is required along with successes in leading, mentoring and improving Operations teams. This is a hands-on role and would suit an experienced Production Supervisor looking to contribute to the production strategy.

**SHIFTS**:
Monday - Thursday 0730-1615

Friday 0730-1215

**JOB DUTIES**:

- Provide supervision of the manufacturing staff and processes to ensure a smooth flow of work, providing assistance where needed
- Communicating the schedule to staff and that the schedule is being met on daily basis
- Ensure that the team are working in a safe manner by following the company policies and procedures
- Ensure the work environment is kept clean and tidy. Ensure all materials, tools, gauges, and consumables are correctly stored and accessible
- Facilitate continuous improvement of activities, processes, and procedures
- Ensure employees, contractors and visitors are aware of relevant HSE procedures
- Ensure that all H&S incidents are properly recorded and reported and that an investigation is carried out to establish and rectify root causes
- Troubleshooting machinist/inspectors wherever needed
- Provide ongoing training to the production team and updating skills matrix

**KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE**:

- Recent and relevant experience within a production / manufacturing / engineering environment
- Previous experience of running a team; particularly coaching, training and development
- Proficient in Microsoft packages and the use of Navision
- An enthusiastic self-starter with the ability to motivate others
- The ability to follow procedure and schedules whilst also possessing a desire to continually improve
- Be an excellent communicator with the ability to lead and influence all levels.
- Experience and knowledge of lean systems and best practice
