Extrusion Manufacturing Operative / PVC Machine Operator and Setter / Night ShiftA great opportunity for an experienced extrusion professional to support machine set‑up, production changes and quality monitoring within a busy PVC extrusion environment.If you’ve also worked in the following roles, we’d also like to hear from you: Machine Setter, Extrusion Technician, Plastic Processing Operative, Manufacturing Technician, Process Operator, Extrusion Operator, PVC Machine Setter, Production Operative.Salary: £35,500 - £36,500 (depending on experience) + Benefits (see below).Location: Hyde, Tameside, Greater Manchester, North West England.Job type: Full‑Time, Permanent.Working hours: 36 Hours per Week – Night Shift 21:00 to 06:00, Monday to Thursday.Job OverviewWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Extrusion Manufacturing Operative / PVC Machine Operator and Setter, supporting extrusion line set‑up, tooling changes and high‑quality PVC production.As an Extrusion Manufacturing Operative / PVC Machine Operator and Setter you will monitor performance, adjust parameters and complete dimensional checks.As an Extrusion Manufacturing Operative / PVC Machine Operator and Setter you will work closely with production, quality and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues, maintain machinery and record production data in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.DutiesYour duties as the Extrusion Manufacturing Operative / PVC Machine Operator and Setter include:Machine Set‑Up: Set up and operate extrusion machinery to meet production specifications.Tooling Changes: Install, align and adjust extrusion dies, screws and tooling, including occasional die cleaning.Process Control: Monitor machine performance and adjust parameters to maintain quality and tolerances.Quality Inspection: Complete dimensional checks, visual inspections and record production data including material usage and settings.Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve material or mechanical issues to minimise downtime.Maintenance: Carry out routine cleaning, lubrication and machine care tasks.Collaboration: Work effectively with supervisors, maintenance teams and quality control to meet production targets.Training Support: Assist in training new machine operators as required.Candidate RequirementsESSENTIAL:Previous experience in extrusion or a manufacturing environment.Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of extrusion processes.Ability to interpret technical drawings and production specifications.Experience using callipers, micrometres and other measuring tools.Good communication and teamwork skills.Physically able to complete manual tasks and stand for long periods.Willingness to work night shifts and overtime where required.DESIRABLE:Experience of PVC extrusion processing and fault rectification.A background in plastic profile, sheet or tubing extrusion.Forklift certification.Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S workplace practices.BenefitsStakeholder Pension Scheme with employer contribution.28 days holiday including statutory days, rising after one year.Life Assurance.Subsidised canteen.Free parking.Employee Assistance Programme.Mental Health First Aiders.Discounted gym membership.Discounted blinds and shutters after probation.Peer Recognition Programme.Free flu jab voucher.Christmas Savings Scheme.NHS Health Checks.Access to a Health Care Cash Plan.How to ApplyTo be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
