**Job Role**

A referral coordinator is responsible for managing the incoming referral process within our neurodevelopmental assessment team. This will include working as part of a triage team. Main duties include:
1. Reviewing and processing referral requests from GP’s or insurance companies relating to neurodevelopmental assessments (predominantly Autism and/ or ADHD assessments).

2. Ensuring that all necessary information and documentation are included in the referral.

3. Verifying insurance coverage and obtaining any pre-authorisation required for the referral.

4. Working as part of a triage team to consider the clinical appropriateness of referrals and communicating outcomes to service users and referrers with regards to this.

5. Communicating with service users to provide them with necessary information about the referral process.

6. Following up with service users to ensure they have received the services they were referred for.

7. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of referral and triage activities.

8. Collaborating with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve any issues or concerns related to referrals.

9. Staying updated on insurance policies, referral guidelines, and healthcare regulations.

10. Assisting with other administrative tasks as needed.

The role of a referral coordinator requires strong organisational and communication skills, as well as knowledge of medical terminology, terminology relating to neurodevelopmental assessments and conditions and insurance processes. They play a vital role in ensuring service users receive timely and appropriate care information relating to the referral that has been made on their behalf and whilst they are waiting for an assessment.

Pay: £24,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
