**Operations Assistant**

**(Structural Steel - Scunthorpe)**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Assistant to join Murray Steel, based at our site in Scunthorpe. This role will involve working at our distribution facility, maintaining stock integrity both physically and within our IT system along with ensuring processes are followed and developed.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:

- To ensure materials are received, identified, and despatched accurately and cost effectively to meet customer requirements.
- To administer stock both inbound, stored, and outbound accurately within our stock system and ensure documentation is accurately filed & safely stored.
- To assist in supervising the stock and all processes connected with it, in line with our working practices.
- To ensure incoming material complies with ordered requirements and is clearly identifiable.
- To identify and report any discrepancies upon material receipt and arrange / safely transfer the material to the appropriate locations on our system for rectification. This Included conducting perpetual stock counts.
- To identify cut items in accordance with the customer’s requirements and ensure stock allocation in line with company policy.
- To assist in prioritize picking / loading requirements and liaise with hauliers.
- To check loaded vehicles against load lists for accuracy prior to dispatch, ensuring material is loaded correctly and secured safely.
- To work in accordance with standard Works and Health and Safety procedures at all times.
- To monitor the external storage environment is clean and tidy.
- To undertake any other duties as required by the Stock Controller/Operations Manager.
- A positive “can do” attitude with a keen eye for detail.
- Be highly organized and methodical.
- An ability to work on your own initiative & as part of a small team.
- Excellent communication skills - internal and external.
- Experience within a similar role desirable but not essential.

**Hours of work**

08.00am to 16.30pm Monday - Friday

**Job Types**: Permanent, Full-time

25 days holiday plus bank holidays

Pay: £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
