A Gloucestershire based tech company who provide a range of public sector clients with research, tech and products surrounding cyber and comms security is looking for a Linux Engineer to join them on-site in Tewkesbury (1 day per week remote). Due to the natureof the project work you’ll need to be eligible for SC/DV Clearance.
**What experience you’ll need**
This isn’t an exhaustive list of essential skills, but it’d be great if you had experience with some of the following:

- Proven experience within an IT Operations and Development environment.
- Skilled in Linux Server & Operating Systems; preferably with exposure to RedHat/Ubuntu.
- Experience with enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Familiar with virtualisation software Hyper-V, Proxmox or VMware.
- Understanding of networking, including routing, firewalls & IPs.
- Containerisation experience, particularly LXC and Docker.
- Exposure to the Atlassian Suite.
- Scripting skills e.g. Python, Bash.
- Awareness of Information & Cyber Security.
**What you’ll be doing**
You’ll be responsible for a variety of things across IT operations such as undertaking system monitoring and updates for infrastructure and security. Maintaining LDAP directory updates, profile admin, network and software installations. Investigating and rectifyingany reported faults, the oversight and support of 3rd party systems, regular review of all technical IT documentation. You’ll also be required to maintain and support all internal systems and provide technical assistance, fault diagnostics and IT support tothe business. You’ll be expected to evaluate the latest technologies and recommend them where fit.
