Following a £2m grant from the department for Education’s innovation programme, Telford & Wrekin Council is working in partnership with MPFT to revolutionise child and family protection in the borough.
The ground-breaking Family Safeguarding model brings together all the professionals we need under one roof, to provide intensive support to parents to address the substance misuse, mental health and domestic abuse that place children at risk of harm.
- The post-holder will support Psychologists to provide psychological assessment and evidence-based interventions for families.
- The post-holder will work with the multi-agency team and will assist with clinically related administration.
- The post-holder will use research skills for audit, teaching, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.
- The post-holder will compile and disseminate relevant resources.
- The post-holder will work closely with both psychological therapies staff and other non-psychological therapy colleagues.
- The post holder will promote and maintain good working relationships with clients, their families, carers and other external agencies.
- The post-holder will assist in the development and delivery of group interventions for parents with mental health difficulties delivering evidence based psychological therapies (such as cognitive behaviour therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy) according to the service user’s presenting difficulties.
- The post-holder will receive regular clinical professional supervision from senior qualified psychologists in the service.
