**Training and support will be given to the right individual to ensure they can perform the following duties**:
**Main duties**
- As a Triage Worker you will hold a pending caseload of victims and survivors of domestic abuse, who are residing within the community. You will be the first point of contact after a referral has been received.
- You will make contact with the referrals within 48-hours of allocation and establish their support needs. This will include providing telephone support, establishing a safety plan and referring/signposting to other relevant support services if necessary.
- You will be the point of contact for the victims who want support whilst they are on the waiting list. This will include having telephone contact with them every week to ensure their expectations have been met.
- You will review the DASH risk assessment with the clients who are looking for support, so this enables us to establish risk and manage the waiting list.
- To support with answering the 24hr helpline. This can involve providing advice and taking referrals to support victims and survivors of domestic abuse.
- To establish links and referral pathways with partner agencies to ensure that service users can access a range of support, maintaining an up to date list of local support.
- You will have effective communication skills and experience of partnership working as the role will involve maintaining effective multi-agency relationships. You will be required to adhere to statutory protocols and procedures.

**Responsibilities**
- To work effectively with clients, other service providers, agencies and specialist services by establishing the initial support needs of the referrals SDASS receive.
- To hold a caseload of pending clients and provide high quality telephone crisis intervention, information and support to victims referred to the service, in respect to risk management and safety planning such as housing, health, welfare rights, children's legislation and criminal and civil remedies.
- To ensure that clear, accurate, complete and concise case records are maintained and any referrals to outside agencies are recorded.
- To work at all times with due regard to the policies and procedures of SDASS, participating in their development and amendment where required.
- You will be expected to attend regular supervision with your line manager.
- In order to deliver SDASS services effectively, a degree of flexibility is needed, and you may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above.
- There is no administrative support for this post and so it is important that the post-holder is self-servicing and that all information and administrative systems are kept up to date.
- To develop and prepare performance reports, including basic statistics relating to service activity, and its effectiveness, as required.
- To identify, in conjunction with your line manager, training and development needs, and participate in training relevant to SDASS’ commitment to providing high quality services.
- To work at all times with due regard to the policies and procedures of SDASS, participating in their development and amendment where required.
- You will be a positive ambassador for SDASS ensuring services are delivered to the highest of standards and SDASS’ policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.

**Person Specification**
- Ability to work under pressure and deal calmly and effectively with crisis
- Demonstrable ability to use Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook)
- Up to date knowledge of legislation and policy effecting the DA sector including housing, criminal, civil and welfare rights
- Evidence of the ability to manage casework effectively with evidence of a methodical and well organised approach

**Salary**: £23,596.00 per year
