**Job description**

Swindon Based £26,877 (FTE) - 25 - 30hrs (Salary to be pro-rated), 1 year - fixed term. Possibility of extension dependant on securing further funding.

On-site - Park House/Swindon - actual days to be confirmed, Thursday required to be a work - day.

This role is part of the Society Without Abuse, formerly known as Swindon Women's Aid which offers support to adult victims, working to support the Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programme (Open2Change) Worker. The main responsibilities of this job include:
Ensuring the safety of partners and children of people being supported by the Behaviour Change Worker. The worker will make sure that the victim is not compromised by the intervention, through the provision of a high-quality safety service giving telephone and 1:1 support. The worker will look to promote the safety of the victim and their children. The worker will also work with other agencies to ensure the support which is provided is victim focused and provide a variety of recovery and well-being goals.

**Main duties**:

- **The main tasks for this role**
- Manage a caseload of assessed clients through telephone and face to face support
- To provide additional support to those children living in the home of domestic abuse in schools or at home (if safe to do so)
- Complete an initial assessment with victims and their children to assess their needs so that you can identify and plan the support to address issues and prevent any problems from escalating.
- Undertake regular caseload review meetings with individuals and families during home and community visits to ensure they are fully supported to progress and achieve desired outcome.
- Assess, manage, and review risks of service users, colleagues, and self, including the use of the CAADA DASH Risk Assessment and follow internal risk assessment processes.
- To make appropriate adult and child safeguarding referrals as required.
- Assess the needs of the service users and create appropriate support and safety plans for people in the community, whilst constantly thinking about the dynamics of risk.
- Implement and review support and risk management plans to ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
- Work with colleagues, Wiltshire Police, Probation and Integrated Offender Management Team (IOM) professionals, as well as multi-agency networks.
- Improve victims' understanding of the impact of Domestic Abuse on their child and work with the victim to provide continued support to their child and themselves.
- Provide healthy relationship work to children living within the home of domestic abuse.
- Ensure personal safety and that of service users and other staff at all times
- Respond to emergencies and crises including access to places of safety
- Plan and implement activities to promote self-awareness, confidence, and participation for service users both adult and children
- Safeguard the health & welfare of service users and their children
- Enable service users to participate in the design, delivery, and evaluation of services
- Work effectively in partnership with multiple statutory and voluntary agencies to enhance service delivery, safety and safeguarding.
- Utilise evaluation and monitoring systems to ensure high standards of service are consistently achieved.
- Assist clients in attending legal and other appointments where necessary
- Provide advocacy and empower survivors to live independent and abuse free lives.

**Groups and Activities**
- Focus on assisting clients and their families to reduce social isolation by connecting them to local community facilities, activities and groups.
- Assist with recruiting clients to be involved in the development of groups or activities or groups, providing them with on-going support.
- Assist with facilitation of group programmes with adults and children.

**General**:

- Work at all times in accordance with the requirements of the Lone Working Policy and procedures.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings.
- Update written and computerised records with accurate and clear information.
- Contribute to effective team working with a flexible and pro-active approach, including cover for members’ holidays and sickness.
- Undertake agreed training and keep updated on changes in legislation, policy and best practice.
- Record and maintain data for statistics for the purpose of analysis and evaluation.

- Deal with highly confidential information relating to vulnerable people
- Ensure security of data, especially sensitive personal data, in line with Data Protection, GDPR and confidentiality
