Swindon Women's Aid, also operating as Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service (SDASS), is the commissioned service for domestic abuse in Swindon. We have been awarded a charitable grant to pilot a Domestic Abuse Aware Schools Award and are looking for 2 passionate and motivated individuals to support this project.

**Job Purpose**:

- To provide links between educational establishments and Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service.
- To assess the needs of families experiencing domestic abuse and ensure the appropriate support is offered through SDASS or other relevant referrals.
- To support the early help and safeguarding process to ensure the best outcomes for children.
- To deliver healthy relationship education to children and young people.
- To collect data and evaluate the effectiveness of the project in terms of improving outcomes for children, providing effective support for victims and educating CYP and families on domestic abuse/healthy relationships

**Main duties**:
**Managing service delivery and performance**
- Be the first point of contact after schools have identified a domestic abuse (DA) need within a family.
- Give advice to education professionals working with families where DA is or has been present
- Provide a triage service to victims/perpetrators of domestic abuse, and their children, completing referrals to the appropriate service within SDASS or external partners
- Co
- facilitate healthy relationships education sessions in both primary and secondary schools, and colleges where needed.
- To establish and maintain effective relationships with educational establishments and other external agencies supporting children.
- To co-facilitate, where needed, The Recovery Toolkit programme for children or adults who have experienced domestic abuse to build confidence, self-esteem and resilience.
- To work with parents and professionals to ensure positive outcomes for children.
- To create and keep up to date, promotional material to raise awareness of domestic abuse and the DA Aware Schools Award.
- To attend multi agency meetings, conferences and community events to raise awareness on the work of SDASS
- To attend TAC/TAF and Safeguarding meetings and complete accurate reports and records to inform the process.
- To ensure clear, accurate, complete and concise records are kept on all sessions and cases.
- Developing monitoring and evaluation of work to evidence the effectiveness of the services provided and to continuously improve delivery.
- To remain up to date on child protection and safeguarding requirements, as well as SDASS policies and procedures, bringing any concerns or issues immediately to the attention of managers/Safeguarding Leads.

**General**:

- There is no administrative support for this post and so it is important that the post-holder is self-servicing and that all information and administrative systems are kept up to date.
- To undertake risk assessments for all activities to ensure that all health and safety requirements are met.
- To develop and prepare performance reports, including basic statistics relating to service activity, and its effectiveness, as required.
- To maintain good communication with families accessing the service, informing parents and staff of any incidents and keeping accurate records of these.
- To identify, in conjunction with the Training Manager, training and development needs, and participate in training relevant to SDASS’s commitment to providing high quality services.
- To work at all times with due regard to the policies and procedures of SDASS, participating in their development and amendment where required.
- To work flexibly and proactively, managing own time and activity to meet the needs of the project and service users.
- A good understanding of the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding
- Willingness to carry out the policies and procedures of SDASS, and to work to agreed guidelines and codes of conduct

- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software
- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport is essential for this post
