The ONE Group work very closely with one of Cambridge's academic research centres within the University and are delighted to be supporting them with this interesting and varied role.

Initially for 3-6 months but with the likelihood of becoming a 2-year fixed term post, this position will give someone with great project, funding and diary management skills the opportunity to work alongside world-leading researchers as they investigatenew breakthrough technologies centred around materials, photonics and nanotechnology.

You will be based in Cambridge and have some flexibility around working hours and location, but there will be a need for some flexibility on your part, including frequent travel, which can sometimes run over weekends.

The research centre collaborates with external partners and your job will be to facilitate the link between industry and academia, ensuring students are supported in following successful and appropriate career paths.

**The Role**:

- As part of the Operations team, support the management and administration of the complex and diversified set of resources, projects and finances within the centre
- Interface with a wide and diverse variety of organisations in a friendly and efficient way. This could be industries, universities, funding bodies, media, etc.
- Collaborate with the senior team to ensure that research commitments and contracts are effectively planned, monitored and delivered, with the purpose of strengthening and maintaining the existing global reputation
- Develop effective project management of research alongside early preparation of grant submissions, monitoring and progress, including KPIs and reports
- Coordinating agenda items and complicated diary management for meetings
- Liaise with Research and Finance departments to develop a robust strategy for collaborative and leading edge research
- Independently develop project plans and deploy effective project management and proactively secure effective delivery of project outcomes

**About You**:

- Degree in a relevant science or engineering field
- Ideally a PhD or equivalent experience
- Project management or coordination experience ideally in a similar environment
- Experience writing scientific reports and conveying complex issues in straightforward language, also drafting scientific data for publications
- Complex diary management experience
- Familiar with interacting with scientists and academics as well as industrial/commercial professionals
- Ability to communicate financial data both verbally and written
- Confidence in managing tight deadlines and conflicting priorities
- Flexibility, including travel
