We have an exciting opportunity for a Fixed Term, Full Time, Recruitment Assistant to join Southampton City Council (SCC) in the HR Recruitment Team, within the Enabling Services Directorate.

Central to this are excellent communication and interpersonal skills together with the ability to build and develop professional relationships across the council and beyond.

**About the role**

SCC’s Recruitment Team is part of Enabling Services Directorate and aspires to be the ‘best in class’ through creating a cohesive approach to Recruitment to deliver value for money for Southampton City Council.

The role of Recruitment Assistant is crucial in supporting the effective delivery of recruitment activity across the whole organisation.

As a Recruitment Assistant, you will be responsible for administering the end-to-end recruitment process. Your key responsibilities will include:

- Supporting hiring managers with recruitment campaigns, shortlisting, interviews, offers etc.
- You will provide guidance on the process and relevant legislation.
- Ensuring all communication and documentation is sent out accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring deadlines and SLAs are met.
- Conducting and completing pre-employment checks, issuing contracts of employment, and ensuring employee HR and payroll records are updated.

**About You**

The Recruitment Team is looking for a motivated and experienced individual to join the team. This is a key role within HR and we are looking for an individual who:

- Takes personal accountability and responsibility.
- Has excellent prioritisation and organisational skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
- Possesses strong communication skills to build relationships across all levels of the organisation.
- Experience of delivering an excellent customer service in a high volume admin environment (recruitment experience would be an advantage).
