**Support world class research and improve the lives of patients as a Clinical Trials Coordinator at Optimum Patient Care (OPC).**
This part time, field-based role will involve working independently to coordinate and schedule patient attendance at clinics, facilitate clinic days and oversee the completion of clinic administration.
As a Clinical Trials Coordinator you will support the PREVAIL study, the first efficacy trial to assess the clinical outcomes of the CONQUEST quality improvement program for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This study will contribute to the understanding of the impact of earlier detection and interventions on the prognosis of COPD patients.
Prior experience is not necessary however strong organisation and communication skills are essential as well as the ability to work autonomously and travel between clinic sites.
**Primary Responsibilities**
- Support the PREVAIL Project Management team by overseeing patient clinics, liaising with GP practices, service providers and patients as necessary to meet study targets
- Schedule appropriate clinic sessions and contact patients directly to ensure maximum attendance
- Ensure clinics are run efficiently and effectively by acting as the central point of contact between patients, practices and service providers, attend clinics as requested
- Organise and provide project documents to practices, assist in the completion of self-administered questionnaires and update files to the REDCap system in accordance with NHS information governance and UK Data Protection legislation
- Support with the delivery of OPC services as directed
**Experience**:
- Excellent customer service skills ideally gained within a Healthcare setting
- Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work professionally in sensitive situations
- Have a “make it happen” attitude, a passion for sharing initiatives and a willingness to help others

Optimum Patient Care (OPC) has been supporting chronic disease management and research in primary care for over 15 years. Our services include clinical audit and quality improvement programmes, data extraction services and clinical research support services. Our anonymised research database - OPC Research Database (OPCRD), is one of the largest electronic health record databases in the world for research use, with over 17 million anonymised patients.

**Contract and Salary**
This is a part time, predominantly home based role, working 3 days per week for a one year fixed duration.
Frequent travel across the West Midlands or West Yorkshire and Humber will be required.
Salary is £20,000 to £22,000 per annum, pro-rated for part time working. Immediate start is available.
