National Security Co-ordinator

**Main Duties**:

- Support and develop the Enhanced Security Mobilisation Plan in collaboration with the Security Account Manager and other security stakeholders
- Identify and implement opportunities to maximise service efficiency and drive continuous improvement across the estate in collaboration with the Security Account Manager
- Develop and deliver an audit framework to champion service excellence throughout the client's national portfolio
- Support the national physical security training programme and foster a culture of customer service with Team Leaders, Site Protection Officers, and Thales
- Conduct physical security risk assessments and penetration across the estate where required
- Coordinate and support live scenario exercises to test and practice response to security and emergency events
- Conduct incident investigations and implement lessons learnt
- Drive an evaluation and improvement cycle for the security programme
- Support the Security Account Manager in planning for potential future events and emerging threats
- Maintain working knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and initiatives
- Support function through human resources, aiding Team Leaders on personnel related issues
- This role will also be embedded within the security management team of the client and can work from one of many suitable locations across the UK, depending on the locality of the National Security Coordinator
- The National Security Coordinator will be an advisor to the Security Account Manager as an SME of holistic protective security
- This is a new position that involves driving a new and enhanced security mobilisation plan across UK-wide sites
- The National Security Coordinator will be responsible for leading a training programme and supporting live exercises with Team Leaders and Site Protection Officers across the UK-wide estate
- An ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support the implementation of an intelligence-led security model is required
- The role will deputise for the Security Account Manager as required
- The National Security Coordinator will actively promote consistent service excellence, sustainability, social values and efficiency initiatives at local and national level, and support pre-audit activities for monthly KPI meetings for the national site security operations
- A requirement to manage security incident responses, resolve client concerns and where required develop and deliver post incident reviews - in line with client and Mitie incident processes
- Additionally, the role will be responsible for building and maintaining networks and partnerships, and collaborating with systems and guarding providers, the Intelligence Services department, and client stakeholders

**Person specification**
- Ability to be screened to SC Level - or have a current SC clearance
- Either sole or dual British nationality to comply with the clients IPSA accreditation (compulsory)
- The role is suited to someone with security management experience or a physical security SME with aspirations to move into a management and coordination position
- PSP/CSMP (or similar) qualified and/or security management experience - preferably with a minimum of 10 years industry experience
- Proven capacity for physical security assurance design, development, and delivery
- Previous experience in standards auditing and operational readiness exercises
- Competent with team training, change management, security programme development, and mentoring
- Demonstrable capability to conceptualise, produce, and maintain improvement plans
