Visitor Experience Officer
We’re looking for a Visitor Experience Officer to join us at Ashridge Estate. Being a Visitor Experience Officer for the National Trust is all about people - connecting with them, inspiring them, and making sure they have the best possible day when they come to visit.
If you love working with all kinds of people, and you’re excited by the Trust’s cause - to protect and care for places so that people and nature can thrive - then this could be the job for you.
**Hours**:37.5 hours per week, regular weekend working will be required.
What it's like to work here:Leading a small and dynamic team of Welcome and Service Assistants, you'll champion the best customer service. You and your team will work closely with a group of dedicated volunteers to ensure we always have a friendly face to greet our visitors and help them to enjoy their visit. You'll work closely with our Senior Visitor Experience Officer to develop a programme of events that will move, teach and inspire visitors. You'll act as a Duty Manager to ensure our visitor operations remain compliant, well presented and well-staffed each day.
Ashridge is a place of wildness, fresh air, freedom and tranquillity. An oasis to feel lost and found in. An escape from urban life. Visitors can walk for miles without encountering a fence or wall or another person. It’s a place to enjoy the seasons. Precious bluebells, filling the air with their scent, crowd the trunks of ancient pollards and coppice stools. Wild thyme, crushed underfoot on the chalky hills, mingles with the song of skylarks and mewing buzzards above the remains of Iron Age earthworks. There are endless stories and spectacles and working at Ashridge you feel part of it and able to leave you mark on this stunning place.

You’ll deliver high standards of presentation at the property, and ensure all our communications with our visitors, from the first click on the website, to the posters and signs around the property are clear and consistent.
