Financial Accountant

Based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire our client is an exciting, market leading and successful company who are looking for a part qualified accountant to join them as Financial Accountant on 12 month fixed-term contract with strong options of going permanent.

This job would suit a part-qualified / qualified accountant with minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience preferably in the FMCG industry, to be responsible for ensuring that reporting is accurate and timely, along with managing the statutory and accountingprocesses for the business.

This company is a leading business in their field that have grown dramatically over the past decade.

The successful individual will have experience working with SAP understanding of technical accounting of UK GAAP. You will need the ability to work accurately and independently within a fast-paced environment. This person will have a good understanding oftechnical IFRS accounting with advanced Excel skills.

Job responsibilities:

- Month end journal preparation for general ledger and balance sheet reviews
- preparing month end/ quarter end P&L/ Balance sheet variance analysis
- Business partnering, supporting local management teams in understanding their financial data and performance, including the preparation of ad hoc reports for various members of the management teams
- Prepare monthly management accounts and prepare and review analysis files to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial and management reporting
- Review month end P&L market reporting and sales reports to be supplied to the sales team and management team
- Prepare the month end reports
- Assist with preparation of Statutory Accounts and compliance with local GAAP
- Hold regular cost centre reviews with the business unit leaders, and work with them to maintain departmental operational costs within budget, especially marketing and sales accruals
- Assist on the budget/forecast submission and by preparation of the overhead budgets, working with the business unit leaders
- Preparation of the bi-weekly/monthly cash flow forecasts, including variance analyses to previous submissions
- Prepare account reconciliations on a monthly basis, and review with the Finance
- Manager
- Liaise with external tax advisers and auditors in regard to the annual statutory requirements
