Interim Financial Accountant (12 Month FTC)

Marlow/Buckinghamshire - Hybrid

Savant is supporting a key client who is seeking a Finance professional to cover maternity leave, taking a hands-on role in managing day-to-day transactional activities while also leading initiatives to modernise and improve the efficiency of our financial operations. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute strategically, streamline processes, and make a tangible impact across the finance function during a pivotal period of change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee month-end close, cash flow forecasting, treasury management, and reconciliations
  • Manage payroll, capital expenditure, VAT returns, and audit preparation
  • Lead and develop a small transactional finance team
  • Support process improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects
  • Provide financial training and guidance to non-financial stakeholders
  • Ensure all changes to statutory requirements are researched, understood, and planned ahead of implementation dates

About You:

  • Qualified or finalist level Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience leading transactional teams and improving finance operations
  • Strong Excel and systems skills (experience with Access is advantageous)
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and people management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and deliver under pressure
