An exciting job opportunity in our well-established team has become available at The Bush Short Breaks Service for Disabled Children, in Hengrove, Bristol.

The Bush provides overnight care and support for children and young people up to the age of 18 who have disabilities and complex needs, in a residential setting. This service offers families the opportunity to have a break from their caring duties, to spend time with their other others or to recharge their batteries.

The role of a Residential Childcare Worker is to work alongside the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, and other residential Childcare Workers to provide a fun time for disabled children away from their families, having new experiences, learning independent living skills and building friendship groups.

We are looking for care staff who are confident and experienced with caring for complex, fun, challenging children and young people. The post requires you to be enthusiastic, motivated, and creative people who wish to support the development of Disabled Children in a safe and fun environment.

The service is offered to children aged between 5 and 18 with severe learning difficulties and/or physical health needs or impairments. The Bush is fully equipped to offer a variety of activities for the children & young people to choose from, including sensory play, in and outdoor activities, cooking and water play.

You will join a well-established team, who are both skilled and experienced in meeting the needs of the young people in their care. You will work a mixture of late and early shifts (7am - 2.30pm/2pm - 10pm), & every other weekend. Sleep in shifts when required.

You will be able to benefit from good quality supervision, training and comprehensive
professional development.

Experience of care work or working with children/young people is essential.
