Leeds, United Kingdom Leeds Conservatoire Full time

LC057**_This is a part-time, fixed-term role: 22.2 hours per week until 1 March 2026._**

The West Yorkshire Music Network is a brand-new network created to connect creative musical talent with opportunities in West Yorkshire. It brings together everyone in the region’s music industry, from creative organisations and freelancers to venues and communities.

Launched by Mayor Tracy Brabin in collaboration with Leeds Conservatoire, Come Play With Me, and Create Britain, the regional network will be a central hub for music industry professionals to share knowledge and insight, create opportunities and collaborate. Open to creatives at any career stage, the network will encourage inclusivity across West Yorkshire’s music sector, with activities tailored towards underrepresented groups and those facing barriers to opportunities. It will also seek to attract national music sector activity at conferences and events across the region while supporting creatives to represent West Yorkshire at national and international music events.

The West Yorkshire Music Network is part of Mayor Tracy Brabin’s £2.3 million ‘You Can Make It Here’ programme, designed to support and drive growth across the region’s creative sector.

As Network Coordinator you will support delivery of events and activities, as well as the day to day communications of the network, speaking with its members and meeting related communities.

The role is ideal for an organised communicator, looking for an opportunity to play an active role in the network, growing their own understanding and experiences of the region in the process. Experience in event delivery is preferable, and an ability to work with mixed stakeholders across organisations would be desirable.

James Warrender, Head of Strategic Partnerships & Enterprise:
Has developed and delivered various co-curricular support interventions for the students and graduates of Leeds Conservatoire (LC), where he is currently Head of Strategic Partnerships & Enterprise. Creating learning resources, work opportunities and fruitful partnerships is at the heart of the team he leads. The role incorporates the conservatoire’s events remit, promoting the brilliant talent at LC via live performance output, and developing audiences and work that reflects and supports the local communities. Supporting the building of a creative ecosystem in Leeds and West Yorkshire in order to retain talent in the region is a major part of the drive to maintain success in this role. He has acted as lead KE professional on LC’s UKRI Knowledge Exchange funding, developing suitable projects that benefit all partners.

He is an experienced professional writer and performer, who has worked both independently and with business partners (published writer with Warner Chappell).
