To sustain and support our current Ambulance Vehicle Preparation (AVP) requirements we are able to offer a further Temporary Fixed term vacancy opportunities to join our existing dedicated AVP Operative team. There may be an opportunity for an extended period and/or recruitment to a permanent post.

**Duties to include**:
Ambulance Vehicle Preparation Operatives process ambulance service vehicles in a prescribed and controlled way that ensures each ambulance is fully equipped and prepared to attend and treat a patient. The role is a key operational support function, which ensures patient safety whilst supporting Operations in meeting its targets. Main duties include detailed cleaning and Infection Prevention and Control activities, checking and inspecting medical and lifting & handling equipment, restocking all consumables and completing vehicle checks. Other duties include the preparation of consumables, stock control, re-fueling and moving vehicles across various locations, recording all daily activities and the repatriation of equipment from Hospital Trusts.

No experience is required as full training will be given. An initial 4 week Training package forms part of your Learning and Development.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Fixed Term AVP Operative, part of the National Health Service (NHS) through the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust and is being made available in West Yorkshire.

Our training package includes Level 2 Apprenticeship and Level 2 NCFE.

The full-time posts are an average 37.5 hour per week contract based on a 24 hour, 7 day a week rota system including Bank Holidays preparing our frontline operational vehicles.

This is an evenings only provision and the days and evening times are dependent upon current provision required to meet operational/patient demand, but the post offers an opportunity to work outside the usual 9 to 5 daytime routine with various rota days off during the week along with significant financial enhancements for maintaining our provision during the evening. This Ambulance Vehicle Preparation is completed overnight and working durations include 8, 10 & 12 hour shifts. Enhanced payments for unsocial time working are payable.

Holiday entitlement is between 27 days and 33 days depending on length of NHS service plus bank holidays on a pro-rata basis.

You must be reliable and conscientious with a good eye for detail and be able to work individually and as part of a small team.
