To deliver high quality, relevant and inspirational foundation skills instruction and learning.
- To provide efficient and effective foundation skills (vocational, personal and functional skills) learning opportunities.
- To contribute to the operation, maintenance and quality assurance of specific SEN courses / qualifications in preparation and response to external accreditation/award body requirements as directed.
- To design and configure materials which will assist learners in their learning and make use of appropriate ILT and classroom/workshop techniques and strategies in delivering learning.
- To continuously improve and develop the resources within the SEN delivery team area.
- To implement, co-create and follow schemes of work and assessment systems and liaise closely with the SEN lecturers to ensure that course requirements are met.
- To develop lesson plans that adhere to the overall planning which provide highly engaging activities for learners, whilst ensuring their achievement and progression capabilities are met.
- To assess portfolios of evidence or assessments of unit/credit criteria to successful achievement.
- To provide tutorial curriculum activities to allocated groups within the course/s and undertake the role of personal tutor to a designated group of learners as a group and through 1 - 1 reviews, and monitor progress towards targets.
- To provide advice and guidance to students on strategies to improve their own learning and performance, such as behaviour, achievement towards targets, progression etc.
- To carry out practical skills assessments in-line with awarding body requirements.
- To liaise with parents/carers as appropriate to feedback/report and collaborate to support progression targets and on programme development.
- To participate in the design and delivery of induction programmes, including taster arrangements.
- To raise learners’ aspirations and provide learners with information on a range of progression pathways.
- To assist in the administration requirements of the post e.g. accurate records learner records.
- To assist tutors with the organisation and monitoring of the work experience programme for all students within SEN area.
- To lead in negotiations with CRQ Leader, course tutors and students regarding appropriate placements.
- To maximise the employment prospects of individuals by negotiating placements with a job outcome, matching these to referees and providing appropriate employability training.
- To ensure that all learners are equipped with suitable protective clothing and equipment and that they are trained in its proper use.
- To support learners to access and engage in all learning activities including trips and visits which may require pushing learners in wheelchairs.
- To assist with the organisation of employer visits for SEN learners.
- To co-ordinate the monitoring of students in placements.
- To co-ordinate the completion of all relevant paperwork, including insurance checks and risk assessments.
- To carry out the required administrative practices and procedures in respect of attendance and training/personal development/work experience and to ensure that, in particular, financial monitoring and control arrangements are processed efficiently.
- To co-ordinate the development of new placements.
- To develop databases and placement provision that can be accessed by all foundation level learners.
- To co-ordinate the organisation and maintenance of placement files and databases representing all foundation level learners within the SEN study programmes.
- To co-ordinate where appropriate the organisation of DBS process checks.
- To lead with the work experience reviews with learners as necessary.
- To attend course team meetings as directed by the CRQ Leader SEN.
- To report regularly to the CRQ Leader SEN on all areas of work for which this post has responsibility.

**GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- To commit to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults
- To participate in the College’s Performance Management Scheme and attend such training events as are necessary to enable him/her to carry out the duties of the job description.
- To continually improve teaching, learning and assessment through proactive CPD and sharing best practice.
- To actively participate in the College’s Quality System, including quality improvement strategies and initiatives.
- To undertake such other duties as may be assigned commensurate with the grade and purpose of the post.
- To take reasonable care for the health and safety of him/her and for others affected by his/her work.
- To actively support College Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity policies.
- To operate/conduct all HR tasks and functions within the principles of GDPR.
