**About The Role**:

The Active Travel Programme Officer is responsible to the Active Travel Team Leader for developing, promoting and coordinating the in-house delivery of our borough's cycle training programme.
- The council's Active Travel Team plays a key role in supporting people to enjoy better neighbourhoods, streets and public spaces and has won several awards for our ground-breaking work.
- By supporting people to become healthier by taking up active travel, you’ll be working the goals of the council’s Transport Strategy and Vision Zero, as well as supporting schools with their whole school goals, such as the Healthy Schools Agenda.
- A minimum of one year’s experience as a fully accredited cycle instructor (NSI or 1st4Sport Level 2) and or a Teaching Qualification
- Experience of the management of staff
- An ability to work collaboratively on a range of projects
- An understanding of current legislation that governs road safety
- Ability to prepare funding bids for submission
- An ability to provide expert advice to elected members, management and less experienced colleagues
- This role will require you to obtain an Enhanced/Standard satisfactory clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service
