**We are currently looking for a Diagnostic Support Officer to join our Axiom Veterinary Laboratories, Devon.**

**Your role will require you to process newly received submissions, manage incoming client queries and incoming communication from partner laboratories and suppliers. To complete all tasks specified on the daily rota, managing one's own workloads and assisting others within the team. All should be in accordance with current standard operating procedures and / or as instructed by management, whilst complying with the company's Quality system.**

**Responsibilities include**:
**Diagnostic Support Officer Level 1**
- Work within the Diagnostic Support team to support the completion of the daily workload in a timely manner and ensure the day to day laboratory housekeeping is completed to a satisfactory standard
- Awareness of and adherence to the safety regulations in compliance with the CVS Safety and Wellbeing Manual, Standard Operating Procedures, COSHH assessments and Risk Assessments
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment as appropriate
- Awareness of and adherence to QMS policies, procedures and methods in accordance with EN ISO 17025:2017
- Adhere to safe waste disposal procedures
- Participation in Health and Safety training schemes
- Undertaking in-house training and development, including routine objective setting and review through Performance and Development Reviews
- Attend and take part in departmental meetings
- To regularly communicate important information to the departmental Manager (putting forward ideas and reporting any ongoing issues/developments)
- Work closely with colleagues, managers and pathologists maintaining good relations and promote effective teamwork

**Diagnostic Support Officer Level**:

- Successful completion of probationary period and deemed to be (as evidenced by training records) competent in all of the tasks described below:

- Transcription of information from sample submission forms to the laboratory information system (LIS) in an accurate manner
- Handling incoming telephone calls in a polite, calm, confidante, accurate, concise and informative manner
- Contributing to “fair volume” of submission entry and call handling as measured against the team average
- Contributing to the Quality system, including assisting with the production of SOPs and seeking client feedback
- Use of the LIS to facilitate all of the above points
