**_Our Purpose_**

The Children’s Commissioning Team is looking for a Commissioner who wants to work as part of a team to deliver excellent outcomes for our children. Our Children’s Commissioner takes the lead on commissioning across children's services including early help and social care.

This role will suit a person who has the project management skills, creativity and analytical skills to see and implement new ways of delivering services for local children, young people and families which are successful in improving outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be involved with developing new ways of doing things and learn from others to identify opportunities for service improvement.

**_ Your Role_**

You will lead Commissioning projects to analyse current delivery arrangements, identify potential changes, implement new models and review their impact.

You will work with the Head of Service and other colleagues on strategic work to ensure that we have robust and effective commissioning processes in place, that support the council’s aim of providing excellent services for vulnerable children and their families.

You will have experience of ensuring that value for money is provided by external partners and oversee the quality assurance and contract management of provision, supported by the team.

Another important aspect to the role, will involve working closely with managers across Children’s Services to make improvements to service delivery in the interests of children.

**_ About You_**

Previous experience of commissioning and/or project management is essential.

Ideally, you have experience of developing new approaches whilst ensuring that policies and procedures are followed.

You will be an effective team player team with the ability to work autonomously when required.

You will have strong communication skills and the ability to produce concise and accurate reports based on data, as well as excellent IT skills and the ability to follow a project management approach towards improvement.
