This is a role within AsiaEdit’s senior management team involving the following responsibilities, all of which are predominantly focused on Business & Economics editors and manuscripts:

- Edit journal papers and check other editors’ work.
- Give feedback to members of the editing and QC teams.
- Monitor and improve the standard of editing.
- Assess potential new editors.
- Assess and help to deal with complaints.
- Deliver occasional inhouse online training.
- Contribute to the development of AsiaEdit’s editing guidelines.
- Work with other members of senior management to set standards, implement processes and in general grow and improve the business.

**Requirements**:

- A postgraduate qualification, ideally a PhD, in a Business or Economics discipline from a respected research-focused university.
- Ideally, a track record of postdoctoral research and publication.
- Excellent editing skills and knowledge of the norms and terminology of academic writing in Business and Economics fields, and able to edit to a very high standard across a range of fields.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience editing academic journal papers, ideally with at least some experience of editing for authors who use English as a second language.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially online.
- The ability to inspire and lead a team.
- The ability to recognise problems and take the initiative to manage them effectively.
- Confidence to occasionally present ideas and training to an online audience, both to the inhouse editing team and to clients.

This role involves a competitive basic salary and an annual performance-based bonus. You’ll work remotely with the small and friendly, geographically diverse management team, helping to make business decisions as well as guide Business and Economics editing.

In the first stage of the assessment process, we will ask you to edit a short sample paper, as editing skills are the foundation for this role.
