**Accounts Payable Assistant**

**Based in Olton, Solihull**

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our friendly and dynamic Finance team here at Waterstones in Solihull. Our Olton office is home to our operational finance teams and our IT support team.

**What you will be doing**

As a **Property Accounts Payable Assistant, **you will be working as part of the Olton HO Finance team. Your main job purpose will be to ensure the accurate and timely processing of invoices. You will work with property stakeholders to manage invoice approvals and queries raised. You will also be first point of contact for property suppliers whilst managing the property inbox and dealing with queries.

**What we need from you**
- Logging, coding and inputting of property invoices for rent, service charge, insurance, rates and BID
- Managing the insurance approval process with our third party and estates team
- Posting of direct debit payments from the cashbook
- Setting up direct debits for rates
- Contacting local authorities to ensure rates are charged for new stores and chase refunds for closed stores,
- Assisting with month end for European ledgers
- Monitoring of property inbox and prompt response to suppliers in relation to queries and escalating urgent queries to property manager
- Sorting the post for property
- Assisting with allocations of the property rates ledger
- Supporting property AP manager and property accountant with ad hoc duties

**Person Profile**
- Working knowledge of an accounts payable environment, such as coding and inputting invoices would be ideal.
- Intermediate excel skills. (ideally to v look up standard)
- Excellent communication skills for both internal and external contacts
- Ability to work as part of a busy team with a positive outlook.
- Systematic and methodical approach,
- Exception attention to detail and accuracy,
