Young Person's Resilience Worker
Overview:
Do you want to work for a charity that believes in people?
Do you want to be involved in something new that changes lives?
As a part of the Change Grow Live team you’ll help people get to where they want to be and make a difference.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join a dynamic team committed to supporting young people with drug and/or alcohol issues and those engaging with the Youth Zones in Newham.
**Responsibilities**:
If you want to be part of a service that helps to build resilience in young people, supporting them to make positive choices and living their life to their full potential, then we would love to hear from you.
This role will contribute to the overall aims of the Youth Zones, Schools and Change Grow Live, where substance misuse is having an impact in their lives. No two days will be the same and we're looking for people who have a range of skills and expertise, who believe in being open, compassionate and bold in everything they do.
Newham Rise is a under 18’s drug and alcohol service. We deliver a range of activities, including triage, assessments, care planning, deliver one-to-one therapeutic interventions both face-to-face and digitally, and provide targeted workshops for young people in schools and in the community. We also provide training to professionals and carers.
Don’t worry, we have a robust induction programme consisting of both online and face-to-face training which includes:
- Drug & Alcohol Awareness
- Motivational Interviewing
- Children’s & Adult Safeguarding
Every day is different, with a mix of people who come through the service. We treat everyone as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are your key skills. We need to record information about what we do, so enjoying a bit of admin work and attention to detail is important, but most of the time you’ll be enjoying working with people from all backgrounds, making a difference to their lives.
Our values are to be open, be bold and be compassionate. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you so click apply. Please note you will be required to work flexibly across youth zones in the borough, as this is an outreach position. This role requires an enhanced DBS check.
The service has significantly expanded in the last year or so and we are looking to strengthen and increase our relationships with community youth zones as well as develop our own harm reduction offer to the young people of Newham.
