The Assistant Team Leader will be required to identify and respond to user needs and to solve problems/complaints as and when they arise. This will require effective liaison with other staff groups, and actively seek constructive feedback on service provision. The Assistant team leaders role is multi-skilled and covers a range of services within facilities. When rotating on to the Pontefract and Dewsbury sites the Assistant Team Leader will be working independently remote to the line manager
- The Assistant Team Leader will have daily operational responsibility for training of the Supervisors, Porters/Linen assistants/Receipt and Distribution across the Pinderfields, Pontefract and Dewsbury hospitals ensuring all records are up to date.
Monitoring appraisals to ensure they are within date. To Provide the Logistic Manager with regular staff updates and monthly reports, financial and performance monthly. Manage staffing rotas and overtime to minimise the financial impact to the department. The Assistant Team Leader will carry out staff training in the skills necessary to complete their work.
Complete risk assessments as required. Assist in the completion and implementation of work schedules and procedures as and when required. Managing team performance. Line Management responsibility for facilities staff.
Site support responsibility for management of clinical and household waste generated by hospitals. Effective liaison with Logistic Managers, Supervisors and Facilities staff on each site across the range of Facilities Services. The Assistant Team Leader will carry out the sickness management as per the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust sickness management policy.
