- As a leading member of the Information Management team within the UK Covid-19 Inquiry, you will take a lead role in managing the disclosure of material to, and by, a complex and high profile Inquiry - the largest in the UK. You will also be a central point of contact in administering the Inquiry’s evidence management (eDiscovery) system. The role supports the Chair of the Inquiry in meeting her responsibilities under the Inquiries Act 2005 and Inquiry Rules 2006 so that the record of the Inquiry is “well-ordered and comprehensive”, and also to ensure that Core Participants and the public are able to access evidence relied upon in the course of the Inquiry’s hearings. The role is broad, with responsibility - alongside the Head, and Deputy Head of Information Management - for potential evidential content in all formats. It covers information in all areas of investigation by the Inquiry and includes the intake of evidence, processing and analysis of material using technology and via liaising with different teams, and awareness of outputs from the Inquiry’s Listening project. The role requires an innovative approach, but has a significant focus on governance and risk management in a growing organisation. You will be responsible for leading staff directly, as well as working closely with others across the organisation, especially the Inquiry’s legal team, building and maintaining strong working relationships to influence and effect impactful change. You will also work closely with the Inquiry’s Data Protection Officer to identify areas of risk within the Inquiry in relation to the Data Protection Act 2018/GDPR and to collaborate with colleagues to mitigate these risks and ensure the security of personal data, whilst still maintaining the ability for the business to continue to operate effectively.**Responsibilities**:
Oversee the receipt of potentially relevant material to the Inquiry, the disclosure of information to Core Participants, and publication to the Inquiry’s website

Administer the Inquiry’s evidence management and document transfer systems, work with members of the wider team to positively impact on workflows, contribute to system design, devise search and categorisation strategies, and solve problems

Work closely with legal teams to understand priorities for evidence in hearings

Contribute to relationship management with material providers

Develop an awareness of research and disclosure activity at the Inquiry and gain a full working understanding of the Inquiry's processes and procedures relating to evidence

Provide training and support where necessary

Work with the Data Protection Officer to ensure secure and compliant processing and to respond to any incidents

Have involvement in document preparation for hearings, and subsequent publication of documents

As part of the information management team: manage physical and electronic evidence, security, and auditing around this manage the lifecycle of high volumes of documents, compliant with best practice and with innovation

Have oversight of, and coordinate a growing team Utilise strong IT skills and knowledge to support the Inquiry team, including an understanding of different technologies and formats
