**WHAT WE DO**:
RE: is a new department within Leeds City College that focuses on creating sustainable products which helps preserve the environment. We save materials and furniture from landfill through refurbishing, restoring and repurposing. Our aim is to teach these skills to students, to raise awareness and equip the future generations in creating a more sustainable economy. The Workshop Assistant will work closely with the Workshop Manager to with the creation of refurbished furniture whilst assist with the training and development of students who are either on a course or doing work experience in the Workshop.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:
You will assist the Workshop Manager with the creation of new and refurbished furniture that is fit for purpose.

You will ensure at all times to follow professional processes that are in place that conform with Health & Safety requirements alongside other relevant statutory regulations.

You will work alongside the Project Administrators to ensure that turnaround schedules on completing furniture works are met in a timely manner.

You will take part in all relevant training opportunities for staff who are employed by or carrying out activities in the Workshop.

You will assist the Workshop Manager to report on impact, of this provision as well as areas for future improvement and growth to inform best practice going forward.

You will assist with the training and development of students who are either on a course or doing work experience in the Workshop.

**YOUR PROFILE**:
We are looking for someone who has relevant industry knowledge and training linked to workshop and joinery tasks.

The Workshop Assistant needs to have the skills and knowledge to operate within the workshop whilst having the passion to teach others about the trade and environmental benefits of refurbishment.
