RE: is a department that looks at preserving the future through upcycling, refurbishing and reimagining. Taking products and materials that would otherwise go to landfill; we give them a new lease of life. Turning them into practical, useful items that sustain our way of living while preserving the environment. The Workshop Assistant role will support the RE: Workshop team to deliver Level 1, 2 and 3 Creative Craft and Upcycling Courses, whilst completing a Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery apprenticeship. You will also get the opportunity to support embedding sustainability into the curriculum whilst developing and growing the business, including space installations, team-building workshops, full-cost courses, and liaising with external stakeholders.

What You Will Do
- Participate in live briefs and projects, working to client requirements and deadlines.
- Develop knowledge and practical skills in carpentry and joinery, including using hand and power tools, measuring, cutting, joining, and fitting materials.
- Work towards achieving the Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery apprenticeship standard, developing core skills and completing assessments.
- Support the RE: team with administrative tasks, sourcing materials, maintaining tools and workspaces.
- Assist with delivery of the workshop qualifications as required including assisting with the setting up of the space for students

About You
- Level 2 English at grade C / 4 or above.
- Level 2 Maths at grade C / 4 or above.
- A desire and interest in Carpentry and Joinery with a willingness to complete the Level 3 Carpentry and Joinery apprenticeship.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- The ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally with people at all levels of an organisation.
- Experience of working to deadlines.
- Experience of managing a diverse workload.
- Excellent communication skills.
