**Company Overview**:
An excellent opportunity has arisen at Kingston Landscape Group (KLG) with the expansion of the Commercial Department based out of Twickenham. The company are growing their team and would like to take on a Buyer. The role reports directly to the Commercial Manager, with room for this role to expand as the company grows. KLG are a Soft and Hard Landscaping contractor predominantly servicing main contractors and developers across central London and the surrounding areas.

An accomplished Buyer that is keen to take the next step. You will be keen to build and progress on the skills you have learnt, whilst gaining experience within the commercial landscaping industry. Skills include the ability to provide good commercial awareness and acumen, a good team player, who can communicate and collaborate with all stakeholders and colleagues. Ready for new challenges and opportunities, with excellent interpersonal skills.

**Key Responsibilities**:
The role will entail researching cost effective building materials and liaising with their suppliers, ordering the correct quality and quantity to arrive on site at the right time. You will also work with the Site Managers to develop a good working relationship with them so there can be sensible adjustments with materials and timings for the good of the business.

You will have worked as a Buyer in Sub Contractor area for a contractor on residential projects and familiar with take-offs, budgets and schedules.

You will be the lead materials & plant buying for all construction schemes with your responsibilities including
- Negotiate, review and reconcile sub-contractor packages for secured works and two stage negotiations.
- Produce procurement programme and ensure this is adhered to.
- Ensure all sub-contractors have had the required information to enable them to provide timely quotations that are compliant.
- Support the Commercial Team in value engineering specific projects.
- Assist with sub-contract enquiries at tender stage.
- Attend handover meetings ensuring sub-contractor procurement is carried out in line with Production Team requirements.
- Maintain detailed rolling work schedule.
- Update sub-contractor data-base, as required.
- Monitor and agree rebates.
- Be able to deliver cost savings and cost reduction, measure & review performance and implement continuous improvement.
- Have the ability to adopt a pragmatic, yet disciplined approach to process compliance.
- Evaluate supplier responses, negotiate with suppliers and place orders in line with company procedures.
- Work within the collaborative culture.
- Keep abreast of market developments, demand trends and risks and ensure that client's requirements are understood for the benefit of our clients and projects.
- Focus on delivering added value through technical competence, functional knowledge and process efficiency.
- Ensure all documentation is collated and stored in line with company policies
- Carry out any reasonable request of a similar nature as directed by Senior Management
- Ensure compliance with the company health and safety policies and procedure

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Diploma or Higher Education (preferred)
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office & Excel
- Full, clean UK Driving Licence (preferred)
