What you will be doing?:
As a Drug and Alcohol practitioner you will be working within an integrated healthcare framework to provide support to drug and alcohol users aged 18 and over in a community setting. Services are designed to deliver Psychosocial Drug and Alcohol Interventions including a range of group work packages as well as structured one to one’s, and relapse prevention/harm reduction strategies. You will be working with a team of experienced practitioners and clinicians in a fast paced end to end community service.

This role is matrenity cover for 12 months.

What we are looking for?:
As the role is located within Renew in Hull, a busy community drug and alcohol service, which will require you to be flexible and good time management skills are essential. We pride ourselves in being a diverse employer and have a supportive approach to people with lived experience.
- Knowledge of the criminal justice sector, the issues facing substance misusers and the recovery Agenda.
- A thorough knowledge of and commitment to the 12-step process of recovery from addiction or of another recovery model.
- Experience of working within the substance misuse services, carrying out comprehensive assessments and the design and implementation of SMART care plans. Experience of delivering structured interventions to service users. Experience of facilitating therapeutic groups. Using motivational interviewing techniques in both 1:1 and group settings.
- Strong IT skills.
- Personal experience of addiction/imprisonment (Those in recovery should have at least 3 years clean time. Ex-prisoners should have been released at least 5 years ago).
- Previous experience of working within a community service or prison setting.
