This is initially a Trainee position, but there is opportunity for progression after completion of 12 months' training. Over 12 months, you will learn and develop the skills necessary to become a Substance Misuse Trainer, including: Delivering training both face-to-face and virtually, using an online training portal for the latter. Providing an effective learning environment for all learners, through identification and incorporation of Varied Learning Styles, as well as consideration of additional learning needs and/or disabilities. Positively influencing and motivating learners, enabling them to meet and exceed their potential.

Assessing learners' progress using a variety of assessment methods. Preparing and delivering programmes of training for other members of staff, internal and external learners, and service users. Supporting the verification process with accreditation bodies such as Gateway and the Skills Education Group for training delivered. Working with other members of the Generis team to continually evaluate the training programmes offered using Employer, Stakeholder and Learner feedback.

As this is a Trainee position, formal training is part of the role, with courses including: Level 3 Award in Education and Training (Formerly PTLLS). Health and Safety. Steroid Awareness. Current Issues in Novel Psychoactive Substance Misuse.

Level 2 Drug Awareness. Level 2 Alcohol Awareness. Level 2 Understanding Boundaries and Confidentiality. Level 2 Equal Opportunities, Prejudice & Discrimination.

You will have regular one-to-one Supervision sessions with your Line Manager, developing a personal training and development plan as you progress. In addition to this, you will produce a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate the competencies required of the role of Trainer. Additional duties outside of Training include: Ensuring that ADS Health and Safety Policies and Procedures are adhered to. During working hours, ensuring all possible steps are taken to ensure the safety of staff and learners.

Keeping up to date with developments and new initiatives within the health and social care and substance misuse fields. Familiarising yourself with the ADS Safeguarding Policy in order to safeguard and promote the health and wellbeing of children, young people, and adults.You must know the signs and symptoms of abuse, and what to do if any such concerns are raised.
