Continuous At Sea Deterrence is one of the Royal Navy’s key outputs. 43 Cdo FPGRM delivers protection to this capability as well as providing support to Commando Force’s operations. Within 43 Cdo, the Motor Transport Department (MT Dept) provides essential logístical support to all aspects of the unit, enabling operational commitments to endure whilst assuring the usage of our vehicle fleets. We deliver specialist training on a variety of vehicles to project and sustain forces whilst also developing capability. The Civilian Driver ensures that we can meet our objectives by providing essential logístical support, ensuring that the vital operations carried out in this unique setting are conducted safely and efficiently. This includes delivering logístical requirements, maintaining vehicle fleets and adherence to policy, all of which is vital to enable us to deliver current and future operations in an efficient manner.

**Job description**:
The Civilian Driver is a key role within the usage of the MT vehicle fleets, providing crucial support functions underpinning the outputs of 43 Cdo FPGRM. Your enthusiasm and professional standards are essential to ensuring servicing of vehicles is done correctly, keeping our people safe. You will be working with excellent equipment, giving you all the tools and access you need to work, combined with guidance and support from the team. Your contribution will directly affect the wider Unit, allowing us to continue to do essential work. You will be a vital link between the Vehicle Technician and Motor Transport departments, so strong communication skills and a personable demeanour will be vital for liaising with colleagues both within and outside the department. The Civilian Driver is essential to the smooth and effective running of the MT Department and the postholder’s position and contribution is highly valued by the team.

Within the MT Team, you will provide support to the MT Dept and wider unit by conducting logístical tasks, including the transportation of personnel, stores and HAZMAT. As a minimum you will have knowledge of the operational outputs of the MT Dept and an awareness of outputs from Operational Squadrons. To ensure the reliability and availability of operational equipment you will conduct Level 1 servicing of vehicles alongside the Unit’s Vehicle Technicians and Artificer.

- Valid UK driving licence less than 6 points
