**Senior Payroll Assistant** // Hybrid working // £27,000 - £29,000 // Kegworth
Cherry Professional are working with a well-established business in Kegworth who are looking to recruit an experienced payroll assistant to join their team of 5 on a permanent, full time basis. The business is looking for someone who has a proven backgroundof processing multiple and complex payrolls, with confidence to navigate grey areas and make decisions based on a solid background of knowledge and experience. The role and responsibilities:
Resolution of queries in a timely manner whilst working collaboratively with the HR department and relevant Site Managers
Ensuring full compliance with statutory legislation together with company and departmental regulations
Working effectively and in a timely manner to ensure all statutory deductions and Company policy payments are processed and paid on time
Driving strong control of payroll procedures, ensuring adherence and compliance where applicable, but coaching people when compliance does not take place
Processing Salaried payroll, maintaining a high level of confidentiality
Communicating effectively with employees at all levels, as well as with internal and external Auditors and other bodies (such as HMRC, Pension Advisors, etc)
Minimising the number of payroll errors (both internal and external to the payroll team) by analysing causes and putting in place corrective and preventative actions to ensure non-repetition
Building and creating complex formulae in Excel to aid with manual calculations
Understanding and operating the Time & Attendance system used to produce the information to pay the Hourly paid employees
Ensure month end and year end (both financial and tax year end) are completed within deadlines, processing journals and reconciliations
Ad-Hoc support/assistance with projects
The skills and experience required:
A strong and solid background in **Payroll**
IT literate with strong knowledge of Excel
Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
Good communication skills
Team player
Experience of working within a fast-paced environment

Working hours are Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5.00pm, Fridays 8.30am - 4.00pm, with the option of working up to two days per week remotely and free, onsite parking.
