Purchasing Coordinator

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to join our fast-growing business. We are a small and friendly team currently based in South West London.
**Responsibilities**:
- Handle end-to-end import process for Asian food products, including documentation, shipping arrangements and customs clearance
- Communicate with overseas suppliers, mainly in Asia, to manage purchase orders and shipment schedules
- Prepare and maintain accurate import documents, including invoices, packing lists, health certificates, and labels
- Ensure compliance with UK import regulations, Port Health and Food Standards Agency (FSA) requirements
- Proactively monitor changes in legislation and update internal policies
- Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers and third-party warehouses to resolve any issues
- Assist in maintaining product specifications, ingredients lists and allergen declarations
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience in grocery goods purchasing or procurement role
- Experience in food importation, logistics or supply chain is preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing import/export compliance, particularly from Asian markets
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and UK/EU food labelling legislation
- Proficiency in Japanese is a strong advantage
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Detail-oriented, organized and able to handle multiple shipments
- Ability to work cross-functionally
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in London SW8 4AS
