Maintenance Officer

As a Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring our hospital and care home services are well maintained and fit for purpose. Working alongside an established team, you will turn your hand to all maintenance-related tasks and liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Participate in all aspects of preventative and corrective maintenance on buildings structure, fittings and grounds.
- Maintain safe working practices when operating hand, power and workshop tools
- Reviewing daily work sheets and prioritising tasks accordingly and complete as directed
- Completion of individual tool checks in line with local procedures
- Support on-call rota where necessary for the purposes of emergency maintenance
- Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks
- Ensure that all electrical equipment is tested (PAT) in line with legislation
- Ensuring that all regular health and safety checks are completed and documented and reporting any health and safety hazards or areas of non-compliance to line managers.

**To be successful in this role, you will need**:

- Experience within a similar role
- General building trade experience
- Ability to paint and decorate
- Basic numeracy and literacy
- A willingness to learn and actively participate in improving standards within our services.

Please note that that use of own vehicle for regular transport to our site in Newport will be required and will be remunerated
