The job can vary from day to day with no two days being the same. For us as a team to provide the best possible care that we can, it requires us to work together as a unit, to support each other, and to help each other grow and learn.

It is a challenging role but one that can also bring so many rewards. There is no greater moment than when you see a young person turn their life around and thrive, knowing that you played a part in facilitating that growth that has helped them to change

It can often be a difficult path to get to that moment with some young people and this is why the role requires great skills of communication, empathy, patience, strength, tenacity to name just a few. The mental health needs that we treat are wide and varied and each individual service user brings their own unique life story with them and this is something we have to respect and work in collaboration with them on.

Given the global pandemic and changes in working practices that we have all had to adopt, the team has embraced new ways of working which has both been a challenge but also enabled us to innovate. Hybrid working with some of the week being from home and other times at our base is encouraged especially where it meets the needs of the service users and enables the clinician to deliver effective interventions

We pride ourselves on looking after our staff and it is vital that we strike the right balance between working hard and achieving great results and establishing a good work life balance.
