Summary The Strategy, Insight and Planning team at the National Trust find ways to bring data to life, telling compelling, evidence-based stories to help colleagues make critical strategic decisions. In Insight, we do this by drawing on a range of audience feedbacktools (including our monthly Brand Tracker, and our online community of 6,500 National Trust Members) alongside analysis of external context data and commissioned research.
This is an exciting opportunity for an Insight professional to join a small but growing team sitting at the heart of this unique organisation. We’d be happy to consider this role on either a full time or part time basis and would be looking for someone toundertake the role at least 4 days a week.
What it's like to work here Based within the Strategy, Insight and Planning team the role provides insight, continuous tracking of audience data, and external context analysis - independently and through agency partnerships - all to aid organisational decision making. The team supportsthe most senior decision-makers within the National Trust, using insight to help shape the development of our strategy.
Alongside the analytical requirements set out in the Role Profile, this role will also provide a key supporting function within the team, updating insight tools and resources and sharing insight across the organisation.
Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. There is an expectation to be in the office at leastone day per week.
What you'll be doing Using your analytical skills and ability to communicate complexity simply, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and developing our monthly Member and Visitor feedback reports, including presenting findings to senior stakeholders. You’ll contribute to arange of other insight work, which will include tracking audience data and feedback, analysing trends, gathering, reviewing and presenting external context analysis, and sometimes managing commissioned market research.
In your supporting role within the team, you will be responsible for updating insight tools and resources such as our intranet pages and roster of approved market research agencies, as well as setting up networks to facilitate the two-way sharing of insightbetween the central team and the rest of the organisation.

- Proven ability to analyse large quantitative datasets using Excel or a statistical tool such as SPSS.
- Meticulous attention to detail, collaborating with colleagues to assure quality and best practice.
- Active listening skills, asking questions, and clarifying tasks - all for the purpose of understanding client needs and requirements.
- Presentation skills, including the communication of findings in a simple, easy-to-understand way - both written and verbally.
- Demonstrable ability to collaborate and work as part of a team sharing learning and ideas.
- A degree or equivalent practical experience in an analytical discipline.
