**Job purpose**

Work under the direction of the Yard Foreman or Chargehand to support the successful operation of the Glasgow business.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist in achieving/exceeding hire and sales targets.
- Ensure the Company's Quality Assurance levels on standard of equipment are adhered to.
- Ensure that instructions are carried out safely in line with the Company's Health and Safety Policy.
- Ensure that personal protective equipment is worn at all times when working in the yard or on site.
- Deal courteously with customers/visitors and drivers, ensuring they report to the Branch office upon arrival.
- Ensure that Branch Risk Assessments safe systems of work are fully complied with.
- Ensure that all deliveries/returns match with the accompanying paperwork.
- Ensure the safe loading/unloading of equipment, carrying out the necessary Risk Assessments.
- Ensure the yard and warehouse are kept in a tidy condition at all times and that materials are stored in the correct place, reporting any shortages to the Yard Foreman.
- Carry out any reasonable requests made by Company staff.

**Knowledge skills & experience**
- Good educational background to GCSE level.
- Good numeracy skills.
- Current Forklift Truck Counter Balance licence.
- NVQ in Warehouse & Distribution / Performing Manufacturing Operations desirable.
- Experience of working in a factory/warehouse environment with Goods-in/despatch experience.
- An awareness of safe working and Health & Safety procedures.
- Basic computer skills desirable but not essential.

- Live within commutable distance of the Glasgow branch on London Rd.
- Customer service focus.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under own initiative and as a member of a team.
