**What does the role involve; -**
- The emphasis is to deliver education that is relevant, fun, inclusive and appropriate for a guest focussed business.
- To take ownership and responsibility for the education department and working with the Head of Zoo Operations, develop and follow an agreed strategic plan.
- Deliver and keep under continual review a series of dynamic, formal taught sessions linked to identified curriculum needs across a range of education levels for the zoo and wider theme park. Periodically assess and record their efficacy against learning outcomes and quality in terms of delivery using accepted pedagogical methodology.
- To take ownership and responsibility for the wider zoo conservation education messaging in line with the _BIAZA Conservation Education Guidelines_ including the evaluation of education. Achieved through guest talks and experiences, clubs, interpretation including the website, animal events, outreach etc.

**Who are we looking for?**
- 3 years+ of experience working in a formal education setting
- Experience working in an EAZA Collection with knowledge of education in the leisure sector
- Knowledge of current conservation issues and the role zoos play in mitigating species loss
